Notes about 2008 Course/Route Updates:

All turns have volunteers to direct you and pavement marks. The bike heads out of South Park on Main Street. Approximately three blocks it turns right on Lake Street. Four blocks, turn right on Berlin Street, which turns into County E. Turn right on Crystal Lake Road approximately 7.5 miles mark. Crystal Lake Road has a coarse gravel imbedded in the pavement for the first quarter mile, but it is in good shape. There are 2 hills, the second one is very long, multistage hill. Turn right at the stop sign on County Hwy K. We have a Reserve Deputy Sheriff and a squad car to slow the through traffic from the left, be cautious. Hwy K has been resurfaced since we used it last. Turn right on Danielson Road cut off to Crystal Road. A Volunteer at Crystal Road and Shadow Road will help you cross traffic. Turn left on Shadow Road, which will bring you back towards town. The bad part of Shadow Road has been repaved, but sections are very course aggregate. At the stop sign, turn right (this is also Shadow Road and Highway 22). We have a Deputy Sheriff and Squad car on hwy 22 to warn and slow auto traffic, a coned bicycle lane and 2 volunteers to help you make the corner safely. Please do your part to negotiate this corner safely. We have signs and volunteers to caution the traffic coming off of Hwy 10 to Hwy 22. Follow Hwy 22 into town and this will bring you to the upper level of South Park and into the transition area. The area along Shadow Lake is coned to create a bike lane. Any known course changes will be posted on the Website and as always at the pre-race course talks.

The run is flat and fast through the streets of Waupaca. You begin down Main Street and turn right on Lake Street. Right on Berlin Street and left down Park Avenue. right on 9th Street and left on to riverside Drive. Left on 10th Street and left on Royalton. Left to 7th street and right on Demerest street. Right on Berlin Street and left on Lake Street. Left on Main Street and look for the big balloon arch.
